Ryan Rhoades, has been identified as the 25-year-old man who died in a single vehicle collision on Wilmot Road near Interstate 10, in Tucson, AZ., Wednesday night.
Tucson Police officers were called to the scene of an accident at approximately 8:45 p.m., according to a TPD media release. When officers arrived, they found Rhoades inside his vehicle, according to the release. He was pronounced dead on scene.
They determined that Rhoades was driving a 1998 Nissan Altima southbound on Wilmot Road at a high rate of speed, the release stated. As the car approached the frontage road, Rhoades applied his brakes and slid into a concrete column that supports part of the I-10 overpass. Rhoades was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision, the release added. source
The crash is under investigation.
