BAZETTA, OH. (THECOUNT) — Heather M. Robinson, 42, of Cortland, has been identified as the woman who died Friday morning after her motorcycle struck a horse that entered the roadway in Bazetta Township, Ohio, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The fatal crash occurred at approximately 4:20 a.m. Friday on State Route 46, also known as Niles Cortland Road NE, in the Bazetta area.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Robinson was traveling southbound on SR 46 on a 2006 Suzuki GSX-R1000 when two horses entered the roadway.
Robinson struck one of the horses, causing her motorcycle to veer off the right side of the roadway and enter a ditch.
Robinson was pronounced dead at the scene.
Both horses were subsequently returned to their enclosure. One of the horses suffered minor injuries in the incident.
Authorities said Robinson was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Alcohol and drug impairment are not believed to have been factors, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The circumstances surrounding how the horses escaped their enclosure and entered the roadway remain under investigation. The Ohio State Highway Patrol has not released additional information regarding the circumstances leading up to the crash.
No information was provided indicating that another vehicle was involved in the initial motorcycle crash.
Bazetta Township is located in Trumbull County in northeastern Ohio, near Warren and approximately 15 miles north of Youngstown. State Route 46 is a north-south highway running through the Trumbull County area and connecting communities including Niles, Cortland and North Bloomfield.
