And elderly Burbank woman was the apparent victim of a home invasion robbery that has left the close knit community reeling in fear.

Burbank PD responded to a home in the normally sedate incorporated city after the victim activated her Life Alert device, according to a spokesman for the Burbank Police Department.

The woman answered a knock at the door and a man forced his way inside, police Lt. Adam Cornils told reporters at the scene. A physical struggle ensued between the woman and the intruder and some items were stolen from the home, Cornils said. The woman was injured in the confrontation and was taken to a hospital. h/t KTLA

The intruder was described only as a male Hispanic in his 30s, according to Cornils.
