It’s being called “a fluke of orbital mechanics” that will bring the moon closer to Earth than it has been in over 18 years. The Supermoon will be peaking on Saturday 3 p.m. EDT.
The Supermoon will appear 14 percent larger as well as 30 percent brighter than ordinary not-so-supermoons.

The man on the moon has not given us mortals a chance to see him lurking this large since 1993.
Tides will experence a dramatic rise and fall during the Supermoon and those same tides may be effected for several days.
