Koichi Wakata, Japanese astronaut, circled the Earth 2,208 times, avoided countless collisions with space junk and wore the same pair of underwear for over a month.
Space shuttle Endeavor picked up Wakata after his stint on the International Space Station that lasted an amazing 138 days. During Wakata’s stay he tested out a prototype pair of underwear designed for extended use.

Anti-static, flame-resistant, odor eating, bacteria killing and you guessed it, water absorbent, the high tech drawers were a smash hit gauging by the lack of response from Wakata’s buddies, “I wore it for about a month and my station crew members never complained, so I think the experiment went fine,” said Wakata.
