MOREHEAD, KY. (THECOUNT) — Christopher Adkins has been identified as the victim in a fatal motorcycle crash Wednesday afternoon in Rowan County, Kentucky, according to authorities.
Adkins, of Morehead, was 23.

According to Kentucky State Police, troopers were requested to assist at approximately 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, after Rowan County deputies responded to a crash along Kentucky Highway 801 in the Morehead area.
Preliminary findings indicate a blue Ford Explorer crossed the centerline of Kentucky Highway 801 and collided with a black Harley-Davidson motorcycle operated by Adkins.
The impact resulted in serious injuries to Adkins. Morehead-Rowan County EMS transported him to UK St. Claire, where he later died from those injuries.
No additional information has been released regarding the driver of the Ford Explorer. Authorities have not indicated whether any charges or citations are being considered.
The crash occurred along Kentucky Highway 801, a two-lane roadway that runs through Rowan County and connects rural areas with the city of Morehead, which serves as the county seat and a regional hub in northeastern Kentucky.
