Check out President Obama playing ball with ASIMO, or Advanced Step in Innovative Mobility! Obama and the robot even shared a bow, which some viewed as inappropriate, not for the robot but for Obama.
“How about that, that was pretty impressive,” Obama said as he marveled the robot’s impressive ball handling skills..
“We saw some truly amazing robots — although I have to say the robots were a little scary,” he said. “They were too lifelike. They were amazing.”
A nuclear research facility in North Austin has been evacuated. The fully functional nuclear reactor is operated by the Nuclear Engineering Teaching Lab department…
The facility was part of evacuations that emptied the entire University of Austin…
“The university received a call from a male with a Middle Eastern accent claiming to have placed bombs all over campus. He said he was with Al Qaeda and these bombs would go off in 90 minutes. President Powers was notified and it was decided to evacuate all of the buildings out of an abundance of caution,” reports We Are Austin.com.
A NASA & G.E. built humanoid robot is going to make a special guest appearance on the Super Bowl XLV pre-game show today. This robot is going to be a future astronaut’s assistant who will be onboard the International Space Station.
R2 is going to appear with Howie Long on the show. R2 isn’t going to do anything sports related- the current prototype consists of only a head, torso, two arms and two five-fingered hands. The government doesn’t want to scare you with the ‘other’ robots they have in secret, which in fact can throw a football and run faster than you, a human. You can only see this guy for now.
Megan Fox was in attendance at last night’s 2011 Golden Globe Awards. Fox was a presenter, but didn’t present an award, she just announced a preview of the movie“The Tourist”.
Fox did not look like she normally does last night. She has lost at least 10 pounds and has become too skinny, and her face structure has changed in a dramatic way. This is why I kind of think that she has a body double who might be a robot, or another girl that was been hired to act as Fox! LOL!
I put together some comparison photos of her at the Golden Globes in 2010 vs. GG in 2011. You tell me if you think it’s botox and weightloss or, if this isn’t Fox at all! Blade Runner eyes?
Koichi Wakata, Japanese astronaut, circled the Earth 2,208 times, avoided countless collisions with space junk and wore the same pair of underwear for over a month.
Space shuttle Endeavor picked up Wakata after his stint on the International Space Station that lasted an amazing 138 days. During Wakata’s stay he tested out a prototype pair of underwear designed for extended use.
Anti-static, flame-resistant, odor eating, bacteria killing and you guessed it, water absorbent, the high tech drawers were a smash hit gauging by the lack of response from Wakata’s buddies, “I wore it for about a month and my station crew members never complained, so I think the experiment went fine,” said Wakata.
