BOHEMIA, N.Y. (THECOUNT) — David Javurek, of Sayville, New York, has been identified as the victim killed in a Wednesday motorcycle crash in Bohemia. Javurek was operating a motorcycle when he was struck by an SUV making a left turn on Lakeland Avenue, the Suffolk County Police Department reported.
Javurek was riding a 2004 Kawasaki motorcycle northbound on Lakeland Avenue when a 2024 Nissan Pathfinder driven by the Bohemia woman attempted to turn left from Peter Lane into the southbound lanes of Lakeland Avenue. The vehicles collided during the turn.

Javurek, 39, was transported to NYU Langone Hospital-Suffolk, where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the SUV, a 41-year-old Bohemia woman, was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Both vehicles were impounded for a safety inspection, and the crash remains under investigation.
No charges have been announced.

Investigators have not released information on whether speed or other factors are under review in connection with the Lakeland Avenue crash.
