BLOUNT COUNTY, TN. (THECOUNT) — Derek Evans from Louisville, Tennessee, has been identified as the victim in a fatal motorcycle collision in Blount County Tuesday night.
Evans, 21, was killed in a two-vehicle motorcycle crash near Alcoa Tuesday night.
According to reports, Evans was operating a motorcycle on Alcoa Highway near Topside Road, when the bike came into contact with a pickup truck around 7:45 p.m. Tuesday.
The driver of the pickup truck was not injured in the crash.
Evans was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
Alcoa Police Chief David Carswell stated the accident is still under investigation and is requesting anyone that may have witnessed the crash or who may have information relevant to the investigation to please contact the City of Alcoa Police Department at 865-981-4111.
