TN Pair William Garrett & Bria Dorsey ID’d As Victims In Friday Fiery Memphis Double-Fatal Crash

MEMPHIS, TN. (THECOUNT) — William Garrett and Bria Dorsey, have been identified as the victims in a double-fatal vehicle crash in Memphis Friday morning.

Garrett, 65, and 26-year-old Dorsey, were both killed in a fiery two-vehicle crash in the early morning hours on Friday.

According to reports, Dorsey was operating a vehicle that was at a complete stop at Central Avenue & East Parkway South in Memphis, TN, when for unknown known reasons, Garrett’s Cadillac rear ended her vehicle at a high rate of speed. Dorsey’s vehicle then burst into flames while Garrett’s made contact with a tree.

Garrett and Dorsey were both pronounced dead at the scene of blunt and thermal injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Former Athens City Middle School Asst Principal Mark Pickel Arranged ‘Sex With Infant’

CLEVELAND, TN. (THECOUNT) — Mark Avery Pickel, a former Athens City Middle School assistant principal, was arrested after police say he attempted to arrange sex with an infant.

Pickel, 51, used the KIK app to arrange to meet with an investigator posing as a new mother and her infant for sex.

Pickelm of Delano, TN, is charged with transportation of child pornography in interstate commerce and interstate travel with intent to engage in a sexual act with a minor.

According to federal court documents, Pickel corresponded with an undercover investigator who posed as a new mother with an infant on Kik. Authorities allege he outlined his desires towards infants to the investigator using a Kik screen name associated with Pickel, reports WVLT.

The undercover agent stated Pickel uploaded multiple explicit images of children to a private chat room and uploaded images of himself in a chat with the investigator.

Pickel also allegedly requested photos of the fictitious infant.

When Pickel traveled to a hotel to meet their “mother and infant” he was intercepted by officers who took him into custody.

Records show Pickel worked at Polk, Monroe and McMinn County schools over the course of his career.

TN Teens Lennasha Harper Ayjean Miles ID’d As Victims In Wednesday Night Double-Fatal Hartsville Cadillac Crash

HARTSVILLE, TN. (THECOUNT) — Ay’jean Miles, of Hartsville, TN, and Lennasha Harper, of Lebanon, TN, have been identified as the teens involved in a double-fatal Cadillac crash in Trousdale County on Wednesday night.

“JackLyfe AJ” Miles, 19, and Harper, 18, were killed in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday night on State Highway 10 in Trousdale County, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

Troopers say, Adrianne Torres, 20, of Lebanon, TN, was operating a Cadillac CTS on State Highway 10 & Old Lafayette Road in Hartsville/Trousdale County, when she traveled into the path of a Kenworth tractor-trailer driven by Ryan Huffman, 42, of Huntingdon, TN.

The force of the crash caused the Cadillac to rollover.

Miles and Harper were pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities said they were not wearing seatbelts.

Troopers said charges and citations were pending in the crash, reports WSMV.

Torres suffered unknown injuries.

TN Woman Gabrielle Boyd ID’d As Victim In Monday Fatal Single-Vehicle Greenville Crash

GREENE COUNTY, TN. (THECOUNT) — Gabrielle Boyd has been identified as the victim in a fatal single-vehicle crash Greene County, Tennessee on Monday.

Boyd, 37, was killed in a crash after a vehicle she was operating crashed in Greenville around 5:30 p.m. on Monday.

According to reports, Boyd was traveling in a Honda UAX at a high rate of speed when the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway in the 2600 block of West Allen’s Bridge Road. The vehicle then made contact with a utility pole.

Boyd was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.

The passenger, 56-year-old Terry Burriell, also of Greeneville, suffered unknown injuries.

Burriell was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash, reports WJHL.

The crash remains under investigation.

Active Shooter Reported Wednesday At TN McGhee Tyson Air National Guard Base

LOUISVILLE, TN. (THECOUNT) — An active shooter situation is unfolding at McGhee Tyson Air National Guard Base in Louisville, Tennessee on Wednesday.

The Blount County Sheriff’s Office is responding to a situation at the air base Wednesday, according to multiple reports.

According to the Public Information Officer Travers Hurst with the airbase, there is an active shooter. The base is on active lockdown and local law enforcement is sweeping the area, reports WJHL.

The base is home to the 134th Air Refueling Wing.

Spokeswoman Becky Huckabee with McGhee Tyson Airport says there are no flight delays at this time.

HUMPHREYS COUNTY, TN. (THECOUNT) — Megan Dotson, of Waverly, Tennessee, has been identified as the suspect sought by police over a near-fatal stabbing in Humphreys County last Saturday.

Dotson, 25, is wanted in a stabbing on Jan. 11 in Humphreys County, according to officials on Wednesday morning.

Police are asking residents to be on the lookout for Dotson, but stopped short of providing details in the stabbing.

TN Man Mark Richard Hart ID’d As Victim In Fatal Wednesday Night Motorcycle Crash Near Madisonville

MCMINN COUNTY, TN. (THECOUNT) — Mark Richard Hart of Etowah, Tennessee, has been identified as the victim in a head-on motorcycle crash involving a vehicle near Madisonville on Wednesday night.

Hart, 69, ws operating a motorcycle on Highway 411 near County Road 410 in McMinn County, when he died in a head-on collision with a vehicle operated by a 28-year-old woman from Englewood.

According to reports, Hart was riding a motorcycle on Highway 411, when for unknown reasons, the bike crossed centerlines and into opposing lanes. The motorcycle then struck the vehicle head-on around 8 p.m. Wednesday.

The THP says, Hart was pronounced dead on the scene of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.

The THP says it does not plan to file charges in the case, but the driver of the vehicle that struck Hart’s motorcycle was cited for driving with a suspended license, reports NewsChannel9.

The driver of the vehicle was not identified.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

TN Metro Police Arriving In Numbers To Downtown Nashville Shooting Sunday Morning

NASHVILLE, TN. (THECOUNT) — Metro Police are responding to a reported shooting in downtown Nashville Sunday morning.

Injuries are unknown at this time.

Officers responded to Lafayette Street and 4th Avenue South at 10:03 a.m. Sunday on reports of shot fired.

TN Man AB Carr Arrested In June Veterans Monument Desecration Shot Dead By Elizabethton Police Friday Night

ELIZABETHTON, TN. (THECOUNT) — AB Carr has been identified as the victim fatally shot by Elizabethton police Friday night.

Carr, 31, who was charged in June with desecration of a venerated object, resisting arrest, vandalism, and disorderly conduct, was identified as the suspect in the fatal officer-involved shooting Friday night.

According to the TBI website,

”TBI Agents continue to gather any and all relevant evidence and interviews in support of this ongoing investigation. Throughout the process, investigative findings will be passed along to the District Attorney General for his review and consideration.”

Elizabethton officials confirmed that Carr had been arrested in June 2019 after members of the Elizabethton Police Department saw him throwing the retired flag box at the Veterans Monument on East Elk Ave.

Last night, Elizabethton Police say two officers were assaulted and injured during an overnight call when Carr attacked them with a metal object around 1 a.m. on Hattie Avenue in Elizabethton.

Carr was killed by officers when he continued to assault them. The officers initially tried to use non-lethal force to stop the attack, reports WKRN.

EPD was responding to a call that the suspect has violated an order of protection and did not have permission to be in the home.

When police entered, Carr allegedly attacked them.

The two officers are in stable condition.

One was taken to the hospital by EMS for treatment and has been released; the other officer was treated on scene for minor injuries.

TN Body Found In Unicoi County Believed To Be Missing Man Luc Vance Report

UNICOI COUNTY, TN. (THECOUNT) — A body found in Unicoi County is believed to be missing Tennessee man, Luc Vance, according to authorities.

Vance was reported missing by family members over a month ago.

According to Sheriff Mike Hensley, a private investigator working for the family of Luc Vance discovered a backpack belonging to Vance in a rugged area off Little Mountain Road. A body was found nearby, reports WCYB.

Hensley said the Vance family has been notified.

The body was taken to ETSU’s Quillen College for autopsy.

A cause of death was not provided.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the Unicoi County Sheriff’s Office are handling the investigation.
