"Hey Ali, go get your big sister an ash tray."
If only there was some sort of government body that monitored bad parents and prevented unhealthy households. If only…
Our favorite competitive drinker, Lindsay Lohan (pictured above in her natural habitat) took her 15-year-old sister Ali out to the bars of Los Angeles recently, enjoying a night of sisterly partying and smoking. Cute.
According to Life & Style Magazine, Linds and Ali “partied until after 1 a.m., and [Lindsay] treated Ali as if she were just one of her friends at the club with her. And Ali was excited to be there.” A waitress at the swanky Roosevelt Hotel said that “both of them were smoking like chimneys and dancing around.”
Okay, I’m not going to tell people how to live their lives but, Ali Lohan, don’t follow in your sister’s footsteps. She seems like a perfectly nice girl but she has made some horrible, horrible choices when it comes to her health. Just look at that picture of her, she looks like Mickey Rourke a very old lady. So while it’s fun to hang with your older sister, just stay away from the drinking and smoking. Trust me, you’ll thank me later.
Sad news for literature fans. Reading Rainbow, the PBS childrens’ show that inspired millions of kids to read (including me), has ended. Today’s episode will be its last after an impressive 26 year run.
The show, hosted by LeVar Burton, would profile a new book in each episode, usually accompanied by animation or some sort of adaptation of the work. The show would always end with children reviewing other books. Throughout the series, Burton toured the world, teaching children about other cultures and the literature they read.
PBS says the show is coming to end because lack of funding and a general change in the world of children’s television. The approach of Reading Rainbow, teaching children why reading is fun, isn’t as popular as it was 26 years ago. That, paired with a cash shortage for the show, brought it to an end.
So ends another chapter from my childhood. Thanks for the memories, Reading Rainbow!
The lovely Raven Symone! Did she? Didn’t She? Disney kids are growing up so quick! Raven was great in Dr. Doolittle with Eddie Murphy. I was so surprised to learn that Ms. Symone might now be a first time mother.
Rumors are flying around the web (most notably here) that Raven gave birth to this little bundle of joy:
Awwww, she’s pretty cute huh? No one is officially saying anything but I’m sure Raven will talk about her new child whenever she’s ready. She’s a full-grown adult capable of making her own decisions and might want to wait before opening up about her personal life. Regardless, this news should be taken with a little grain of salt.
Apparently, the father is a Mr. Jussie Smollet, who I know absolutely nothing about. Word is that the couple is no longer together, which may be one reason for Raven’s decision to keep things private. Whatever their status is, they sure did make a cute baby.
