ALBANY, GA. (THECOUNT) — Caiden Gibson, 20, has been identified as the apprentice lineman who died following an accident Wednesday involving the City of Albany Utility Operations Department, according to officials.
City officials confirmed Gibson’s death Thursday.
Authorities said Gibson had been employed with the City of Albany’s Utility Operations Department since September 2024.
Officials described Gibson as a fiancé, father, friend, and dedicated employee.
No specific details regarding the circumstances surrounding the fatal accident have been released.
City officials stated they do not yet know exactly how Gibson died and said the incident remains under investigation.
Albany is located in southwest Georgia and serves as a regional center for utility and public works operations throughout Dougherty County.
The city said support resources have been made available for employees and family members affected by the tragedy.
