PORT JEFFERSON STATION, NY. (THECOUNT) — Joel Almanzar, of Port Jefferson Station, New York, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Thursday morning BMW crash in Suffolk County.
Almanzar, 36, was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Green Avenue in Port Jefferson Station early Thursday morning.
According to reports, Almanzar was operating a BMW on Green Avenue, when for unknown reasons, the car veered off the roadway. The vehicle then made contact with a parked vehicle and came to a rest after striking a fence around 1:30 a.m. Thursday morning.
Almanzar was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
