CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA. (THECOUNT) — Aaron Groome was identified Wednesday as the Virginia teen fatally struck by a train in Colonial Heights in Chesterfield County on May 8th.
Groome, 16, was walking south on the train tracks near the 15900 block of Woods Edge Road when he was struck and killed by a southbound train.
The train death was initially reported Wednesday, May 8, at about 2:15 p.m., reports WTVR.
Pictured here is a 16-year-old with the same name who was reported missing in Newport News, Virginia back in March. Officials have not yet confirmed a connection.
A missing persons alert indicated Groome may be in need of medical attention.
A Chesterfield Police spokesperson said. “Police continue to investigate this incident.”
