BALTIMORE, MD. (THECOUNT) — Renika Howard has been identified as the young mother killed while celebrating her son’s 7th birthday Thursday in Baltimore.
Howard, 25, was discovered by authorities around 5:20 p.m. suffering from at least one gunshot wound on Fisk Road, in the Cherry Hill area Thursday night.
Baltimore City Police say responded to a call of shots fired Thursday evening in the 2700 block of Fisk Road.
Upon arrival, officers found Howard suffering from gunshot injuries to her upper body.
She was transported to an area hospital where she was later pronounced dead of gunshot injuries.
Homicide detectives are investigating what circumstances led up to the shooting. Thus far in 2019, there have been six homicides in Baltimore. source
A vigil is planned Friday night at 4:30 p.m. on Fisk Road, at the scene of the fatal shooting.
