EARLING, IA. (THECOUNT) — Earling Fire Chief Tom Henrich has died while responding to a combine fire Saturday, according to fire dept representatives.
Henrich, whose age was not provided, died after experiencing a possible medial episode while responding to a combine fire on Hazel Road, in Earling, IA.
A representative with the Shelby County Emergency Commission confirmed the sad news that Earling Fire Chief Tom Henrich died Saturday afternoon.
KJAN Radio reported the fire was near Highway 37 and Hazel Road around 2:40 p.m. source
Authorities said Henrich suffered from a medical episode shortly after crews arrived to the fire.
