Jennifer McDuffie, of Currie, NC., has been identified as the woman killed in a single-vehicle crash in Pender County early Thursday morning, according to State Highway Patrol officials.
According to the Highway Patrol officials, McDuffie ran off the road and hit a tree around 6:20 a.m. on Thanksgiving morning while traveling on US 421 near Richard Switch Rd in Currie.
Troopers say an investigation has been opened in the crash. It is unclear if speed or alcohol were a factor in the crash. source
According to her Facebook page, McDuffie worked as the drive thru cashier at McDonald’s. She attended Pender High School. She was was the type of person that was always “helping others,” according to family and friends who took to social media in numbers to remember McDuffie.
