RHODES, IA. (THECOUNT) — Brandon Overman, 31, and Chandler Kendall, 27, were identified as the two people who died Sunday in the motorcycle crash on 295th Street in Rhodes. Overman was pronounced dead at the scene. Kendall was taken by air ambulance to a Des Moines hospital where she died from the injuries she got in the crash.
Marshall County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the scene just before 9:15 p.m. The Iowa State Patrol and Iowa State Medical Examiner’s Office are investigating the incident.
Deputies responded to the report of the crash on 295th Street in Rhodes. Upon arrival, they located a man several yards from the motorcycle and off the roadway. Deputies then conducted a search of the surrounding area.
During the search, deputies located an unresponsive woman. The woman was provided initial care at the scene before being transported by air ambulance to a hospital in Des Moines for treatment of her injuries. She was later pronounced dead of injuries suffered in the wreck.
The Iowa State Patrol and the Iowa State Medical Examiner’s Office are investigating the circumstances of the crash. No additional details regarding the cause of the crash or other factors have been released at this time. The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office handled the initial on-scene response, including securing the area and locating both individuals involved.
