LIVONIA, MI. (THECOUNT) — Gage Wade Pierce, 25, has been charged with four counts of first-degree murder in the fatal shooting of his parents, Holly Kimball, 53, and Sterling Pierce, 58, along with his brother, Tanner Pierce, 22, and Tanner’s girlfriend, Nevaeh Finch, 21, at a residence in Livonia, Michigan.
According to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office, Pierce is also charged with four counts of felony firearm in connection with the shootings.
Pierce was arraigned Friday morning in 16th District Court. Bond was denied.
Livonia police responded to a home on Rensellor Street at approximately 5:30 p.m. Tuesday after receiving reports of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they discovered Kimball and Sterling Pierce deceased on a backyard patio.
Investigators said Tanner Pierce and Finch were found dead inside a bedroom of the residence.
Authorities allege all four victims suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
Prosecutors contend Pierce used a semi-automatic rifle and fired multiple rounds at the victims.
The suspect was taken into custody at the scene, according to police.
A dog was also found inside the residence suffering from a gunshot wound to its front right leg.
The animal was transported to Veterinary Emergency Service West in Plymouth for treatment.
Authorities said multiple firearms were recovered during the investigation.
Livonia Police Chief Thomas Goralski said investigators uncovered evidence suggesting ongoing tensions within the family.
“There was a contentious relationship between the suspect and his parents,” Goralski said, adding investigators had no information indicating prior disputes involving Tanner Pierce.
Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy described the killings as a devastating act of domestic violence.
“A whole family was wiped out. Very tragically, it is extremely hard to protect yourself from a murderer in your own home. This domestic violence mass homicide could have happened anywhere and at any time. We will aggressively prosecute this defendant for his alleged actions,” Worthy said.
Livonia is located in Wayne County in southeastern Michigan and is one of the largest communities in the Detroit metropolitan area. The city sits west of Detroit and is home to approximately 95,000 residents.
Authorities have not publicly disclosed a motive for the shootings.
The investigation remains active as detectives continue reviewing evidence and preparing the case for prosecution.
Court records and additional filings are expected to provide further details as the criminal proceedings move forward.
