TX Man Rashaad Coleman ID’d As Rider In Thursday Beaumont Fatal Motorcycle Crash

BEAUMONT, TX. (THECOUNT) — Rashaad Coleman, of Beaumont, Texas, has been identified as the victim in a fatal motorcycle crash early Thursday morning along Calder Avenue in Beaumont, according to authorities. Coleman was 42.

The single-vehicle collision occurred shortly before 3 a.m. in the 5800 block of Calder Avenue in Beaumont, located in Southeast Texas near the Louisiana state line.

According to the Beaumont Police Department, officers responded to reports of a motorcycle crash involving a tree along the roadway.

Investigators said preliminary findings indicate Coleman was operating the motorcycle at a high rate of speed when he lost control.

Authorities said the motorcycle subsequently left the roadway and struck a tree.

Emergency personnel responded to the crash scene and located Coleman suffering from serious injuries.

First responders rendered aid before Coleman was transported to a local hospital for emergency medical treatment.

Despite lifesaving efforts, Coleman later succumbed to injuries sustained in the collision.

Officials have not publicly released the exact time he was pronounced dead.

Online records show Coleman resided in Beaumont.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash, according to investigators.

Authorities have not publicly stated whether Coleman was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.

The Beaumont Police Department said the investigation remains in its early stages.

Crash investigators continued examining the scene Thursday morning as evidence was documented and the motorcycle was removed from the roadway.

Single-vehicle motorcycle crashes involving excessive speed frequently result in severe or fatal injuries due to the lack of exterior protection available to riders.

Officials have not released additional information regarding possible contributing factors including impairment, roadway conditions, mechanical issues, or visibility conditions at the time of the crash.

The stretch of Calder Avenue where the collision occurred is a heavily traveled roadway through Beaumont containing both residential and commercial areas.

Traffic in the area was affected while officers and emergency crews conducted the on-scene investigation and cleanup operations.

No additional injuries were reported.

The fatal crash remains under active investigation by the Beaumont Police Department.

Additional information may be released as investigators continue reviewing evidence connected to the collision.
