PA Man Christopher White ID’d As Victim In Tuesday East Hempfield Twp Fatal E-Bike Crash

EAST HEMPFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA. (THECOUNT) — Christopher White has been identified as the victim in a fatal electric bike crash Tuesday in East Hempfield Township, Pennsylvania, according to the Lancaster County Coroner’s Office.

White was 30. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to a statement released Wednesday, coroner’s office investigators were dispatched at approximately 4:54 p.m. to the intersection of Dartmouth Drive and Wilson Avenue for a reported collision involving an electric bicycle and a crossover SUV.

Officials say White, a resident of Lancaster City, was operating the electric bike when it collided with the SUV under circumstances that have not yet been fully detailed by investigators.

Responding personnel located White in the roadway suffering from severe injuries. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

An autopsy was conducted Wednesday morning. The Lancaster County Coroner’s Office determined the cause of death to be multiple traumatic injuries. The manner of death was ruled accidental.

East Hempfield Township Police confirmed the driver of the SUV, identified only as a 75-year-old resident of Manor Township, was not injured in the crash. Authorities have not released the driver’s name.

The collision occurred at Dartmouth Drive and Wilson Avenue, an intersection within East Hempfield Township located just west of the city of Lancaster in south-central Pennsylvania. The area is part of a suburban roadway network that connects residential neighborhoods with commercial corridors and nearby state routes.

Officials have not announced any charges or citations in connection with the crash. Information regarding contributing factors, including speed, right-of-way, or roadway conditions, has not been released.
