LEFLORE COUNTY, OK. (THECOUNT) — Russell Townsend, of Valrico, Florida, has been identified as the victim in a Monday fatal motorcycle crash in LeFlore County, Oklahoma.
Townsend, 49, was killed in a single-vehicle motorcycle crash near Talihina, Oklahoma.
According to reports, Townsend was operating a Victory motorcycle on US Highway 271 near Talihina, when for unknown reasons, the bike exited the roadway in a curve around 1 p.m. Monday. The bike the rolled over.
Townsend, who has ties to Arizona, was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
