SCOTT COUNTY, IN. (THECOUNT) — Renee Smith, of Sellersburg, Indiana, has been identified as the victim in a fatal vehicle crash in Scott County.
Smith, 41, was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Scottsburg early Wednesday morning.
According to reports, Smith was operating a Ford Escape on Interstate 65 near Mile Marker 32 in Scottsburg, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle came into rear-end contact with a semi-tractor around 1:15 a.m. Wednesday. Smith’s vehicle then rolled over.
Smith, originally from Louisville, Kentucky, was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries at the scene.
The driver of the big-rig was not injured in the crash.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
