CHILTON COUNTY, AL. (THECOUNT) — Sara Swindall Moreland, of Lawley, Alabama, has been identified as he victim in a Tuesday fatal two-vehicle crash in Chilton County.
Swindall Moreland, 34, was killed in a two-vehicle crash near Clanton Tuesday afternoon.
According to reports, Bruce McGinniss, 58, of Clanton, was operating a Kia Optima on Alabama 22 near mile marker 63, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and into opposing lanes Tuesday afternoon. The Kia then struck a Toyota Camry operated by Swindall Moreland head-on.
Swindall Moreland was transported to an area hospital where she was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries.
McGinniss suffered unknown injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
