AVOYELLES PARISH, LA. (THECOUNT) — Destiny Ates of Pollock, Louisiana, has been identified as the victim in a vehicle crash in Avoyelles Parish on Sunday night.
Ates, 22, was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 49 near Bunkie Sunday night.
According to reports, Ates was traveling as a passenger in a vehicle on I-49, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway around 7:30 p.m. Sunday. The vehicle then entered a culvert and rolled over.
A male driver and a child suffered unknown injuries in the wreck and were transported to an area hospital.
Ates was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
