BUCKSPORT, ME. (THECOUNT) — Bucksport, Maine woman, Savannah Smith, has been charged with murder in connection to the October 2017 death of 2-year-old Kloe Hawksley.
Smith, whose age was not provided, was arrested Thursday and charged in Hawksley’s death.
Police say Hawksley was killed in her Central Street home in October 2017.
Family members have said smith was helping care for the toddler when the death occurred, reports FoxBangor.
Authorities have yet to release the cause of the child’s death.
Police had previously said that there was no reason for anyone in Bucksport to fear the girl’s murderer might strike again.
The incident remains under investigation.
