NEWPORT, OR. (THECOUNT) — Joshua Porter, of Toledo, Oregon, James Lacey, from South Tom River, and Stephen Biernacki, from Barnegat Township, New Jersey, have been identified as the three fishermen killed after their boat capsized in Yaquina Bay Tuesday night.
According to Coast Guard officials, commercial fishing vessel, Mary B II, called for an escort across the bar at around 10:15 p.m.
Upon arrival, authorities found the boat run aground on the beach near the north side of the Yaquina Bay North Jetty, according to OSP.
When a crew arrived, the boat had already capsized. Crews were dealing with 12 to 14-foot seas during the initial response. source
