MILTON, WV. (THECOUNT) — William Michael Ball, of Milton, West Virginia, has been identified as the body found leaning against a neighborhood sign in Milton on Wednesday morning, according to the Cabell County Sheriff’s Department.

Ball, 51, was found leaning against the sign at the entrance of the Fox Fire Rd & Fox Pointe Dr, in Milton, across from O’Casey’s saloon, just before 10 a.m. Wednesday, police said.

Officials said Ball showed no external signs of foul play and nothing else at the scene indicated foul play had occurred.

A cause of death was not provided by officials.

Deputies believe Ball could have been at the location, which is located in a highly visible area near U.S. 60, for about eight hours prior to him being located. He had last been seen shortly after midnight. source

The body was turned over Wednesday to the West Virginia State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.

Ball’s family was notified of his death Wednesday afternoon, according to reports.
