WEST ODESSA, TX. (THECOUNT) — Christian Flores, 22, and Albertico Valenzuela, 17, of Odessa, TX, have been identified as the victims illegally street racing when a violent crash occurred wo miles west of Odessa.
In all, three people died and two others were injured following a crash on east on W. 16th Street, Odessa, near Industrial Ignition auto parts.
Christian Flores was killed, as was Araceli Galbadon, 47, and Kassandra Delagarza, 20, who were traveling in third a vehicle when they were struck during the crash.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Christian Flores, 22, and Albertico Valenzuela, 17, were racing side-by-side westbound on 16th Street, both in Dodge Challengers. Araceli Galbadon, 47, was traveling east on 16th Street with Kassandra Delagarza, 20, Sergio Delagarza, 17, and Elias Delagarza, 9, in a Chevrolet Impala. source
Valenzuela lost control and struck Flores who continued to skid into the eastbound lanes of 16th street and struck Galbadon.
Galbadon exited the roadway and struck a fourth vehicle, Chevrolet Silverado, in a parking lot south of the roadway.
Valenzuela, Sergio and Elias were transported to an area hospital for blunt force trauma injuries consistent with the collision.
This crash is still under investigation.
