APPLING COUNTY, GA (THECOUNT) — Shots were reportedly fired at Appling County High School, that is now under a Level 3 lockdown/evacuation as of 9:49 a.m. Monday – until further notice.
The police chief said a 16-year-old male student suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound on school property, located at, 482 Blackshear Hwy SE, Baxley, GA.
The teenager has been transported via LifeFlight to a Savannah area hospital.
According to police, a weapon has been recovered and there is no danger to students. source
