The Auburn Mass., Police are saying their investigation into a report of a Halloween chocolate bar containing a razor, was “made up,” by the reporting 11-year-old child.
The candy tampering caused great concern among law enforcement and parents alike, however, the claim has been deemed a hoax.
As the investigation into the tampered Halloween candy continued, APD Detectives were able to speak with the 11 year old who originally reported the item in her candy. After interviewing her along with her mother, it has been determined that the entire story was a fabrication created by the child. h/t myfoxboston
Initially police say they were notified by a resident that their child had found a piece of metal inside the wrapper of a candy bar.
A similar story played out in Ohio. That incident has not yet been declared a hoax and no arrests have been made.
