Jimmy Fallon finally took over Conan O’Brien’s spot as host of NBC’s Late Night on Monday.
The show earned the highest Monday rating it’s received in more than three years and was up 35% from Conan O’Brien‘s average this season.
The critics weren’t so kind!
EW called it “ultra-ordinary — one liners about President Obama and the deficit that sounded like material Jay Leno’s writers had faxed over from L.A.”
The Chicago Tribune said Fallon was “Sweaty, tense, uptight, nervous, wound-up, keyed up — pick an adjective.”
I think we should give him a break…I’d probably sweat out of my knee caps if I was doing that show. It’s got to be nerve racking. Keep strong Jimmy you can do it!! (Next weeks ratings will tell)
