HANOVER COUNTY, VA. (THECOUNT) — Sean Austin Serra, of Doswell, Virginia, has been identified as the victim in a Wednesday fatal vehicle crash in Hanover County.
Serra, 27, was killed in a single-vehicle crash near Ashland Wednesday night.
According to reports, Serra was traveling as a passenger in a BMW sedan on the 14200 block of Washington Highway in Ashland, when the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway around 10:50 p.m. Wednesday. The vehicle then made contact with an embankment and flipped over – ejecting both occupants.
The driver was transported to an area hospital to be treated for unknown injuries.
Serra was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
