LA Teen Maurice Scardino Jr ID’d As Pedestrian In Tuesday Night Cut Off Fatal Vehicle Strike

LAFOURCHE PARISH, LA. (THECOUNT) — Maurice Scardino Jr, of Cut Off, Louisiana, has been identified as the pedestrian fatally struck Tuesday night in Lafourche Parish.

Scardino, 18, was killed after he was struck by a vehicle near Cut off Tuesday night.

According to reports, Scardino was on-foot in the area of LA-308 and Ignace Lane in Cut Off, when he was struck by a GMC Acadia around 11 p.m. Tuesday.

The Acadia then exited the roadway before making contact with a utility pole.

Scardino was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries.

The Acadia driver was not injured in the collision.

The cause of the deadly incident remains under investigation.
