BERKS COUNTY, PA. (THECOUNT) — Makenzie Ward and McKaide Fenstermacher, both of Barto, Pennsylvania, have been identified as the victims in a Tuesday night double-fatal vehicle crash in Berks County.
Ward, 22, and 24-year-old Fenstermacher, were both killed in a two-vehicle crash near Longswamp Township Tuesday night.
According to reports, Ward and Fenstermacher were operating vehicles on State Street near Tower Road in Mertztown, when the vehicles collided head-on around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Officials say, the crash may have been caused due to icy road conditions.
Both drivers were pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries at the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
