TILLAMOOK COUNTY, OR. (THECOUNT) — Ruth Ann Whittenberg, of Hammond, Louisiana, has been identified as the victim in a vehicle crash in Tillamook County, Oregon on Saturday Afternoon.
Whittenberg, was killed in a two-vehicle crash that also injured two other individuals on Saturday near Tillamook.
According to reports, Whittenberg was operating a Buick Century on US-101 near Tillamook, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and into opposing lanes around 1:30 p.m. Saturday. The vehicle then came into head-on contact with a Toyota Tacoma.
Whittenberg was transported to an area hospital where she was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries.
The occupants of the Tacoma were transported to an area hospital with unknown non-life-threatening injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
