CLARK COUNTY, IN. (THECOUNT) — Cody William Whitehead of Elizabethtown, Indiana, has been identified as the victim in a fatal vehicle crash in Clark County Thursday night.
Whitehead, 24, was killed in a multi-vehicle crash involving two semi-trucks on Interstate 65 near Sellersburg, Indiana.
According to reports, Whitehead was seated inside a disabled Buick LeSabre on I-65 near Sellersburg, when a Freightliner semi-truck, operated by Matthew T. Zartman of Burnsville, North Carolina, struck him from the rear. The force of that crash then pushed Whitehead’s vehicle into the path of two more trucks around 11 p.m. Thursday night.
Whitehead was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
The involved truck drivers were not injured in the wreck.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
