CROSBY, TX. (THECOUNT) — A shooting during an apparent burglary at “Central Guns” in Crosby, Texas, likely left one man dead of gunshot injuries on Monday.

According to reports, a man in his teens or early 20s, was fatally wounded by gunfire after the owner of the gun store opened fire on on a pair of men attempting to commit a robbery on Monday.

The victim was found dead early Monday morning near Baytown, Texas, and officials say they believe the deadly incident may be related to an earlier burglary and shootout at the gun shop, located at, 2025 Kennings Rd in Crosby, TX.

According to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, deputies responded about 4:30 a.m. to reports of a burglary at a gun shop at the corner of Kennings Road and Green Cove in Crosby. Gonzalez said the shop owner encountered two people who may have broken into the shop. Gonzalez said the shop owner exchanged gunfire with the two people who fled the scene. The shop owner said at least one of the two people was wounded, reports Click2Houston.

Gonzalez said that 11 minutes later, authorities responded to reports of a man in his late teens or early 20s who was suffering from a gunshot wound near Baytown.

The man, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene of gunshot injuries, the sheriff said.
