PORTLAND, ME. (THECOUNT) — Wayne Harwood, the Portland, Maine man struck while riding a skateboard this week, has died in the hospital from his injuries, according to Maine officials Saturday.
Harwood, 25, was traveling on a skateboard when he was struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run on Cumberland Avenue, near Avon Street on Wednesday.

Harwood was transported to an area hospital where he passed away Friday night. His family has been notified, according to ProvidenceJournal.
He was listed in critical condition throughout the week.
The driver involved in the collision fled the scene.
Police are looking for a white sedan with damage to the passenger side. A dispatcher for the Portland Police Department on Saturday said there were no updates in the search for the vehicle.
Anyone with possible information on the deadly incident should contact police at 911.
