HOUSTON, TX. (THECOUNT) — Marcos Jasso has been identified as the 18-wheeler driver killed when he was cut off by a car and plunged off the 610 ship channel bridge Wednesday.
Jasso, 24, was operating a semi-tractor Wednesday morning when the driver of a Toyota Camry made an unsafe lane change in front of him. The maneuver caused Jasso to strike the Camry before veering into the bridge concrete barrier and smashing through.
The big rig fell upside down on the industrial facility below the bridge, according to KHOU.
The trucker initially survived the fall but was pinned upside down in the wreckage.
Sadly, he passed away as the rescue attempt was underway, police later said.
