Martin Lapisch has been identified as the Chula Vista man that fell to his death in the Bonita area Tuesday morning after striking a deer on California Route 125.
Lapisch, 44, was a husband and father of a 15-month-old baby, say friends. He was a German immigrant who became a U.S. citizen in 2003, friends told local media.
The CHP say they received a call of a car striking a deer just before 4:45 a.m. The vehicle reportedly then stalled on northbound CA-125 just before the transition to state Route 54. Jio said responding officers and fire crews arrived to find the car in the No. 2 lane abandoned with the dead deer in front of it. source
According to Jio, fire crews looked down from the freeway and saw a man in the ravine below. Lapisch was declared dead at the scene.
