PICTURED: Missouri Inmate ON THE LOOSE After Hospital Visit Over SWALLOWING BATTERY

St. Louis County Police are seeking St. Louis County Justice Center inmate, Bruce Brutsman, who escaped after being transported to an area hospital after claiming he had swallowed a battery Saturday.

Brutsman, 36, was removed from the Justice Center to a hospital for treatment after allegedly swallowing a battery. While under emergency room care, he escaped on foot from the County Correctional Officer monitoring him.

Investigators believe Brutsman stole vehicle from the 5800 block of Hampton Avenue after escaping. Be on the lookout for a white, four door, 1997 Toyota Tercel with Missouri plates SK8R4K.

Brutsman is described as 6-foot-6 and 240 pounds. He was placed into custody for burglary and property crime charges. Police considered him armed and dangerous.
