One of my favorite American Idol winners, Kris Allen, his wife, actress Katy Allen and the couple’s dog are recovering after being injured in a head-on car accident New Year’s day.
Kris’ wife Katy is pregnant which makes the accident even more scary.

The Season 8 “American Idol” winner was involved in a head-on automobile accident on New Year’s Day. His wife, actress Katy Allen, and Internet-famous dog, Zorro, were also in the car at the time.
According to tweets from Kris’s mother, Kimberly Allen, Katy and Zorro are “pretty beat up” but doing fine; however, Kris broke his arm and will undergo surgery on January 2nd.
Kimberly wrote, ”Kristopher and Katy are both pretty beat up but ALIVE!” She also said that the couple’s dog is all good: “Zorro is fine too! Very shook up, but not injured.”
The “Live Like You’re Dying” singer is supposed to begin his “Out Alive” tour this month, but it looks like his guitar playing may be sidelined for a bit.
“Don’t worry everyone I may have broken my wrist but the #OutAliveTour is still on,” Kris posted to update his fans.
