GREEN COUNTY, KY. (THECOUNT) — Sandra Durfee, of Hodgenville, Kentucky, has been identified as the victim killed in a Saturday morning vehicle crash in Greene County. Five other individuals were injured in the wreck including two juveniles.

Daniel Sidebottom, 22, of Greensburg, Kentucky, has been identified as the other involved driver arrested and charged with murder.

Sandra Durfee, 63, was killed, and her 63-year-old husband, Ronald Durfee, was injured along with couple, April Suzanne Durfee Landon, 41, Joshua Landon, 41, in an early morning two-vehicle crash in Summersville. The crash also injured two juveniles.

According to reports, Sidebottom was operating a Ford F-250 pickup truck on KY-323 near KY-61 in Summersville, when he failed to stop at a posted stop sign and caution light around 2 a.m. Saturday. The vehicle then came into contact with a Honda Odyssey operated by Ronald Durfee.

Sandra Durfee was transported to an area hospitals where she was later pronounced dead.

The remaining five people in the Honda were all transported to area hospital in unknown condition.

Sidebottom, who refused medical treatment at the scene, was arrested and charged with murder, driving under the influence (DUI), disregarding a stop sign, two counts of first-degree assault and three counts of second-degree assault.

Sidebottom is being held in the Taylor County Detention Center.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
