SAGINAW COUNTY, MI. (THECOUNT) — Shaurome McKinney has been identified as the teen killed following a Tuesday police pursuit in Saginaw County.

McKinney, 19, was killed late Tuesday afternoon after crashing a vehicle during a police pursuit in Saginaw.

According to reports, police attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a Dodge Charger South 20th Street near East Holland Avenue in Saginaw on Tuesday around 3:40 p.m. The vehicle then fled the scene. The charger crashed into a tree about a mile from the initial contact with police.

McKinney, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries at the scene.

No other injuries were reported during the pursuit.

The deadly incident remains under investigation.
