SHELBY COUNTY, OH. (THECOUNT) — Todd Jordan, of Sidney, Ohio, has been identified as the suspect shot inside a Shelby County grocery store on Tuesday.

Jordan, 53, was shot and killed by police during an officer-involved shooting at a Sidney Foodtown grocery store on Tuesday.

According to reports, police responded to a call of shots fired at the Sidney Foodtown at 1010 Wapakoneta Avenue in Sidney on Tuesday. when they arrived, police fatally shot Jordan during a confrontation.

Police said there was an initial contact with Jordan, who was armed with a handgun in the cash register area of the store. At some point, Jordan allegedly fired shots inside the store before police opened fire.

Jordan was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of gunshot injuries.

The cause of the deadly incident remains under investigation.
