FRESNO COUNTY, CA. (THECOUNT) — Fresno, California Doctor Melvin Helm, of Clovis, has been identified as the body pulled from a Fresno County lake Sunday. He was 55.
The neurologist has been identified as the victim who went missing while apparently solo-diving on Friday. His body was recovered Sunday at Millerton Lake.

According to reports, first responders were called to Meadow Campground area of Millerton Lake on reports of a missing diver on Friday around 6:30 p.m.
The body of Helm, a board-certified neurologist and headache specialist, was recovered in the Meadows area on Sunday.
Following Dr. Helm’s death, Saint Agnes Medical Center released a statement saying:
“We are saddened by the tragic news about Dr. Helm and extend our deepest sympathies to his family. Our thoughts and prayers are with them during their time of grief.“
Community Regional Medical Center also shared their grief in a statement:
“On behalf of Community Health System we are saddened to hear about the loss of a very dedicated and caring physician, Melvin Helm. Our thoughts go out to his family and may our condolences bring comfort at this very difficult time.”

A cause of death was not provided.
The fatal incident remains under investigation.
