POLK COUNTY, FL. (THECOUNT) — Etiel Diaz, of Lakeland, Florida, has been identified as the victim in a fiery fatal vehicle crash Wednesday night in Polk County.
Diaz, 25, was killed a two-vehicle crash involving a semi-tractor near Combee Settlement Wednesday night.

According to reports, Diaz was operating a Volkswagen on North Combee Road near Tanglewood Street in Combee Settlement, when the vehicle came into contact with a Freightliner tractor-trailer around 7:22 p.m. Wednesday. The big-rig and the Volkswagen then burst into flames.
The truck driver was uninjured in the wreck.
Diaz was pronounced dead at the scene of thermal and blunt force trauma injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
