SIDNEY, AU. (THECOUNT) — Recent rainfall over parts of eastern Australia did little to extinguish the flames as the country experiences major bushfires just ahead of worsening conditions and a heatwave due to arrive in the coming days.
With all of the devastating fire drama going on in the AU, it made us think about those celebrities with connections to the country. Mainly those who immigrated to Australia or just decided to move there.

Musician Gotye was 2-years-old when he and his family moved to Sydney, eventually settling in Melbourne.
ACDC Bon Scott and his family moved to Melbourne when the would-be AC/DC lead singer was 3-years-old. Scott passed away in London at the age of 33 in 1980.
Olivia Newton-John was six-years-old when she and her family moved to Melbourne from England.
Naomi Watts and her family moved from England to Sydney when the future actress was 14-years-old.
New Zealander Russell Crowe and his family moved to Australia when he was four-years-old.

Approximately 70 bushfires continue to rage throughout New South Wales, despite modest rainfall over Christmas in some fire-affected parts of the state, firefighters continued to battle a large blaze in South Australia on Boxing Day.
