NEW SALEM, ND. (THECOUNT) — Christopher Hageman has been identified as the victim in a fatal single-vehicle crash near New Salem on Tuesday night, according to reports.

Hageman, 26, was killed in Tuesday rollover crash near New Salem, that also injured several children and an adult woman.

Hageman was operating a Ford Explorer on County Road 139 in Morton County, when for unknown reasons, it crossed centerlines and exited the roadway around 2:50 p.m. Tuesday.

Passengers, Carlie Hageman, 26, of Dickinson; and three children, ages 2, 3, 6, were taken to Sanford Hospital and CHI-St. Alexius in Bismarck. All the occupants were from Dickinson, reports JamesTownSun.

The driver was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries.

Carlie Hageman and 6-year-old Dayton Hook were treated for injuries that were not life-threatening. The other two children also were restrained by a seat belt or car seat and not injured.

Carlie Hageman was the only occupant who was not wearing a restraint, the Highway Patrol said.

According to social media, Hageman was a former CNA at Marion Manor Nursing Home. He attended Lincoln High School and was originally from Aneta, North Dakota. Carlie Jo Hageman was his wife, according to Facebook.
